Djibouti is stationed on the second most frequented road by world traffic located at the entrance of Bab-El-Mandeb Strait connecting the Red Sea to the Gulf of Aden in the Indian Ocean, the republic of  jibouti gained its independence on June 27, 1977.Before that period and precisely in 1966, Djibouti was a major Bunkering point: top 5 in the world and handled about 3,4M Tons, Business dropped down due to closure of suez canal, Afterwards, Red Sea Bunkering has been established in 2015 under Djibouti Free Zone jurisdiction and started immediately the onshore bunker services.


Red Sea Bunkering FZCO is part of the Great Horn Investment Holding Group, the mother company through Djibouti Ports and Free Zones Authority (DPFZA), The company supplies international standards bunker services of heavy fuel, Low Sulphur Fuel, marine diesel and lubricants on onshore (At all ports) and offshore (In Djibouti Anchorage) in the republic of Djibouti. The creation of RSB in July 2015, as an exclusive bunker company and unique physical supplier in Djibouti water territory, joins the vision to complete the one –stop-shop objective of Djibouti ports and Free Zone areas enabling to position Djibouti as regional logistics and trading hub, and for bringing back our leader position on the bunkering map, Thanks to the strategic geographical advantage of Djibouti location, that enables to Red Sea Bunkering to cover within short period the demand of large range of vessels. With the introduction of offshore HFO380 services, Red Sea Bunkering have changed within short time the bunker services in Djibouti and have refueled over 545 Thousand Metric Tons of heavy fuel and Gasoil to 3500 ships between mid-2015 to end 2019.


Red Sea Bunkering has business development plan to increase its activity with new investments in 2020, in order to acquire new bunkering vessel 5,000.MT & a storage vessel 80,000.MT. RSB have availability of IMO 2020 VLSFO, the new fuel needed towards 2020, This new investment and project will enhance the company business performance and will extend its activities to meet full range of bunker services and will contribute to the aim of the Chairman Mr Aboubaker Omar Hadi to position Red Sea Bunkering, by 2020, the leader of bunker services in the Red Sea waters.


Red sea Bunkering performs its bunkering operations in compliance with safety standards and environmental protection and dispose full Anti-pollution equipment Tier 1 and Tier 2 is under implementation process. Safety is our first priority in our entire operation in order to secure at the maximum customer’s assets and to protect our environment. Red Sea management in collaboration with ports management is fully committed to keep enhancing bunkering safety and security operations for sustainable development objective. The company complies with the international standard and adhere MARPOL, annex I, regulations 73/78. It disposes full Anti-pollution equipment.
